HORIZON NEWS, FEB 2023

It is an exciting and busy time at Horizon Music Group with many projects for 2023. 

  • Soulful, Bluesy, Roots Jam Band Creamery Station has been working on a full-length album following their most recent album Walk with Me, which was #1 on the Relix charts, and spent a full seven months in the top 20.
    From the new album, singles “Story to Tell” and “Under the Maho Tree” are both out on Spotify now, and made top 20 on the Relix chart.
  • Red Matter (formerly a Grateful Dead experience band Terrapin) is preparing to release their first full length album this spring with all original songs. The project is produced by Horizon’s Vic Steffens and former head of Sony A and R Michael Caplan. Their first video “Under the Light of the Moon” is coming out soon!
  • New Haven’s RGB, (The Rob Glassman Band)’s album Feelin’ Good, Feelin’ Right! is setting out to be released March 1st, 2023.
  • Hawkins French, a singer-songwriter is releasing his first studio album with five singles already out: “Morbid Thoughts”, “No Regrets”, “Punching Bag”, “Love Me Anyway”and “Remember Me”. Prominently featured on the album is Nashville based cellist, Dave Eggar known for his work with coldplay, foreigner and Louis Capaldi.
  • Jennifer Hill is working on her second album, Gaslight Noir, The projects feature powerful songwriting, vocals and piano from Jenn, who is know for her female activism.
  • Indie Punk band Shame Penguin has their debut Ep The White Madonna in the works. From this Ep, their single “Sam Jackson” is out now! Watch for the new video of “The Hive” recently released.
  • Young Alternative band from Fairfield, Tweed Sugar, is currently working on a 4 Ep project. Part 1 is to be out within the next weekSingles “What if I (One Little Lie)” is out now (from Part 1 Ep), along with “Mr. Oswald”
  • Jeff Pitchell is releasing Blues album Playing with my Friends February 24th. This release is a collection of new and classic songs featuring artists such as Claudette King, Christine Ohlman, Tyrone Vaugnn, and late J. Geils.
    His previous release Heavy Hitter was a top 10 hit on the Billboard Blues chart.

Vic Steffens and Michael Caplan will be speaking at the PLAY Music Conference in Philadelphia Feb. 16 through 18. Horizon will have a booth in the Trade Show Room at the event, and will be available for mentoring and general consultation. Vic Steffens will be speaking sat the Producer’s Corner panel, and Micheal Caplan at the Team Building panel. Stop by and say hello!
